5 Friday Finds!!!!! WVQB!!

Have you heard? A DII QB from a small town in WV wins his first start as a Chicago Bear!! A proud founding franchise of the NFL with more QB drama over the last 30 years vs reality tv shows like the Bachelor or the Ultimate Fighter. However, none of it is surprising. Especially if you ever were around his work ethic or leadership. He comes from a determined, hardworking family. I had the pleasure to see him upclose at Shepherd and he has the size, fortitude, confidence, and most of all chip on his shoulder to have a long career in the NFL. More than that, to be #$%Z^ good too. He became the first West Virginia-born quarterback to start and win an NFL game since 1974 when Joe Gilliam did it with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Never forget at Shepherd he went on to be one of the best quarterbacks in all of college football, throwing for 17,034 yards and 159 touchdowns to 48 interceptions while completing 69% of his passes. Those 159 TD's are the most all-time at any level of the NCAA. This no fluke. No moment is to big for him. My sons this is a prime example of finding your passion, never listen to critics, and never giving up on your dreams. Succeed where you are, lean on those who are in your corner, and give it to God. Salude Mr. Bagent and keep it going!! We believe in you!! Shepherd University is a special place and you will be a special QB in the NFL. Thank you for the following special 5 Friday Finds I learned this week as a Twin-Dad.....

1. Contrary to what environmental specialists say, the Saddest thing about raising a kid in 2023 isn't climate change. It's that when you eat your corn on the cob like a typewriter, they don't get it!!

2. After having children, 80% of marriage is just negotiating who's dropping off which kid at which sport.

3. I don’t normally like to brag about expensive trips but I just got back from the grocery store, getting gas, and signing twins up for fall sports!!

4. Realized the point has been reached where I no longer remember life without kids. What do people do in their spare time? Relax? Enjoy peace and quiet? Finish a complete thought? Not share food??

5. 5:00 AM: [Twins in a harsh whisper] Dad, don't worry, you can sleep. We are going to make our own breakfast; how do you turn on the stove?

Me: I'm up. I'm up!!
