Is it me or do 5-year-olds operate in only 2 speeds? Engaged swiftly into full-throttle energy or downshifted to an annoyingly slow snail pace. Forget the 0 to 60 in 5 seconds comparison. These speeds change in .01 seconds. You can go from swiftly engaged talking at the speed of light once eyes open in the morning to an abrupt snail moving speed when asked to go brush your teeth in exactly .01 seconds. Fast forward .01 seconds after brushing teeth and the same full-throttle energy comes to life. That energy will last all the way up to getting in the car to go anywhere. Then boom you drive to the grocery store and that slow-snail paced speed comes alive once again. I am pretty sure it takes twin 5-year-olds about a week to exit a vehicle. But Wait!! That full-throttle energy comes back to life once we enter a Publix. Am I complaining? Absolutely not. It simply is an observation and work in progress. Finding that masculine medium between swiftly-floor it and sluggish snail-like. One thing I do not want to slow down are these always striking 5 Friday Finds.....
1. Preparing for summer break be like: worked from home, ran a 5k, cleaned the house, made a delicious dinner, and got the twins to bed on time! It’s amazing what you can do if you lie!!
2. I'm at my most SEAL Team Six when trying to sneak-throw out all the junk twins brought home on the last full week of school!!
3. Twins can tell you about a 24-minute episode of Bluey in exactly 56 minutes!!
4. This summer if you see the twins wear the same outfit 5 days in a row. “Mind yo business” our summer homeschool has a uniform policy!!
5. You can learn many things from twins. For example, how much patience can one human have in 24 hours??!!
