Now here’s a day that just about everybody can relax and enjoy. It is National Goof Off Day, a March 22 holiday. This day is all about taking a break from the stresses of daily life and embracing playfulness and fun. With the demands of work, school, and other responsibilities, it can be easy to forget the importance of letting loose and having some fun. Goof Off Day offers a reminder that it's okay to take a break and enjoy the lighter side of life. The day takes me back to my 8th grade P.E. Teacher who would always tell us boys horsing in the gym to stop "playing grab ass." Leisurely days spent outside enjoying the sun, hanging out with friends and family, and just enjoying all the wonders that life has to offer: these are the essence of National Goof Off Day. Winnie the Pooh said it best when he said, “doing nothing leads to the very best something”. And many people find that something to be a sense of inner peace, relaxation, and a day free from all the stress of “doing.” So it’s time to take a cue from Winnie the Pooh and learn to enjoy National Goof Off Day! I will be trying, as I watch as many March Madness games as possible! However, not before I share the goofy 5 Friday Finds first.....
1. “We are not gonna have a morning like yesterday!” I delusionally announce to twin brethren, moments before we have a morning like yesterday…every. single. Day!!
2. At least 70.2% of raising twin boys is asking them to get their hands out of their pants!!
3. One twin told me he was making bookmarks, and I didn't realize that involved eating chocolates so he could use the wrappers, but now I think he's onto something!!
4. Wrestle until we get hurt. Whine. Resume wrestling until we get hurt. Whine. Wrestle again until we get hurt. Whine. Hey, wanna wrestle?? -Twin boys
5.“Do NOT pee on your brother!" And other things you hear in a public restroom that don't seem strange at all after having twins!!
