Like it or not, our culture is deeply steeped in contests and competition. There are few things more personally gratifying than winning. Which is why I have the upmost respect for our Nemesis Mr. Nick Saban. He was nothing short of standup after losing the National Championship Monday applauding Coach Smart and our players on building a great team. Humility isn’t false modesty. Nor is it submission. Humility is best defined as accepting yourself with all your imperfections, recognizing your flaws and limitations. Other hallmarks of humility include being intellectually curious, asking questions, being open to others’ ideas, and willing to admit mistakes. For 41 years the Dawgs had to endure the limitations of not reaching the mountain top in college football. However, that is no longer the case! It could not have happened against a better opponent or a more worthy coach. Thank you for holding up your end Alabama so we could clash in what was an electric atmosphere against two heavy weights. Thank you to all the players who put in the most work, to Coach Smart for creating the best culture that got us over the hump, to all the staff, administration and fans a huge thank you. Most of all thank you to the position coaches. You have the most interaction with our players, spend personal time game planning, mentoring, and developing these young men. You are the most integral part to the success. Relish breaking through and let’s get started on another run to the mountain top. Get ready for the bulls-eye on our backs with every team bringing their best shot against us next season. As I applaud Dawg Nation I have a big grin on my face for how much this victory means to so many people and the comical 5 finds found this week as a twin dad….. Go Dawgs!!

2. If the twins were stuck on a deserted island with just one set of clothes, they’d still end up with piles of laundry!!
